Art Activities for the week of Oct. 13 - 17:

6th: The top of the class is completing their paintings on based on the study of Lascaux Cave in France.  They are learning about how and why Pre-Historic people made art.  Very cool!
5th: The 5th graders are drawing animals using common shapes.  This is teaching them to look at complicated subjects and use the help of shapes to draw them.  They truly are artists!
4th:Fourth grade is beginning the very exciting project of their Yellowstone Masks.  These masks are inspired by characters in their very own written Legends!

3rd:The terrific third graders are finishing their Crazy Hair self portraits!  They are using a variety of expressive lines to create their hair dos!

2nd: The super seconds are making their very own bug collection based on the book, Icky Bug Colors.  Besides reinforcing color mixing they are also experimenting with lines.  Ask them how they make their bugs.  It is a blast!

1st: First graders are learning about Geometric and Organic shapes.  They are using two different painting methods: Blob and Outline.  Ask them about the different shapes.  They are amazingly smart!

Kindergarten: The Kinders are getting an introduction into lines and using watercolor paints.  They are learning about straight, curvy, zig zag, loopty loo, spiral and dot and dash lines. Whew that's a lot of lines!
